Frequently Asked Questions

 Frequently Asked Questions

When will the project start?

April 21, 2025

How many holes will be closed at a time?

9 holes will be closed at a time, while 9 holes will remain open for golf.  As the project progresses, holes in different stages of construction will begin opening for play (estimated to start in June).

How will I book tee times?

You will book tee times as you normally would on the website or via the El Macero app. You can also call the Golf Shop if either option is not available to you.

Can I still post my score during construction?

Yes, all 3 phases of the course will be rated as an 18-hole Golf Course. They will be ready to go during each phase of construction. You can post your score in the Golf Shop on the posting computer or on the GHIN Mobile app. It is recommended that you post your scores hole-by-hole.

Will there be special scorecards printed for during construction?

Yes, the Golf Shop will have new cards available when 9-hole play begins on April 26th.

Can I play 9 holes from one tee box and play a different tee box when I make the turn?

Yes. You can play the same holes twice or you can play one set of tees for the first 9 and another set of tees for your second 9. Note: (If you play from two different sets of tees, you’ll need to post each 9-holes as a 9-hole score.)

Can I still walk the course while playing or do I need to take a cart?

Yes, there will be directional signs any time we have unique routing from one hole to another (like when play leaves Hole 14 to go to Hole 1). We will also have carts staged on Hole 14 for those who wish to drive a cart from Hole 14 over to Hole 1. Golf services will be coordinating the staging of these carts.

How will staff manage Pace of Play?

Nick and his team will be marshalling to keep players in position and to keep the golf course moving efficiently to allow the maximum number of players each day.

Will the Snack Bar be open throughout construction?

Yes, the Snack Bar as well as all the other club facilities will be open during construction. The team has strategized routing with the contractor to allow a visit to the Snack Bar after playing 5 holes or less.

How will members be kept updated on progress?

There will be weekly communication updates on the project. “The Bunker Blog” has been created to keep members apprised of the progress of the project and will be updated periodically. It can be accessed via the app or club website. Course routing updates will be a part of daily communication from the golf shop. It will be mandatory that you check in at the Golf Shop before heading to your designated first tee.

Can I go out and look at the new holes while under construction?

No. To maximize safety and minimize disruption to the construction crew and members, players must
stay off of any closed holes. We will provide pictures and videos on the Blog so that members can see
how the project is progressing.

When will the project be completed?

The project is expected to be completed by August 30th, with 18 holes ready for play on September 1st.
